I find that one of the best ways to educate myself about a topic is to watch documentaries.
Here are the top 3 documentaries that inspired me, changed my mindset massively and formed my opinion on environmental vs health issues.
1. A Plastic Ocean
This documentary highlights the international environmental catastrophe that plastics are causing on Earth and how it affects human beings in the whole scheme of the food cycle.
You might really stop using any plastics after watching this documentary.
2. Food Inc.
... also the reason why I became pescatarian. I watched this video when I was 18 years old in University and stopped eating chicken ever since.
The film examines the modern food industry and corporate farming in the US, revealing surprising (and shocking) truths about what we eat and how it's produced. It concludes that food production practices today are environmentally unsustainable, has a negative impact on our health, and is abusive to both animals and employees.
3. An Inconvenient Truth
My geography teacher played this in class for us when I was in college and it was the first time I ever learned and felt that climate change is real.
The film shows the real threat that climate change poses to the Earth - it's causes, effects and history and potential solutions to it.
I hope you guys find these films as inspiring and impactful as I did. Check them out and let me know what you think!
